2 days Winter Wonderland adventure from Oslo

Tour Program

Beitostølen is a charming mountain resort the perfect basecamp for winter activities. Experience dog sledding, wilderness accommodation, snowshoeing & ice fishing. Can you catch your own lunch?

Welcome to Winter wonderland!

Day 1: 

You will take a comfortable bus leaving from Oslo at 8.30 and will arrive in Beitostølen town approx. 12.20. We will pick you up at 13:15 at the bus stop, so you will have time to explore the town and do some (food) shopping before the tour. The bus tour from Oslo to Beitostølen is an experience itself. It passes through the valley of Begnadalen and the beautiful region of Valdres, before arriving Beitostølen skiing Resort. Outside the window you´ll probably be able to see frozen lakes, waterfalls, and a perfectly white landscape coloured by traditional Norwegian lodge houses.

Dog sledding

A memorable hands-on experience. Visit the home of our 50 huskies. After proper instructions from your guide, you will learn how to handle and steer your own team of huskies! This dog sledding tour is approx. 12-14 kms long. After dog sledding (or along the way, if possible), your guide will prepare a wilderness meal while sharing some good stories around the fire or stove. Feel free to ask about anything you´d ever wondered about huskies, dog sledding or Norwegian nature!

Wilderness accommodation 

You will spend the night in our wilderness camp. We have two mini cabins and one glamping telt. All located in the forest.  Go back-to-basics; electricity is substituted by a wood-fired stove, lights by candles and moonlight, and a normal toilet for an outdoor composting toilet. 

The cabin is equipped with a kitchenette, 2 gas burners and anything you need for a comfortable stay, “Glamping” style. (Glamping = Glamorous Camping). Max capacity is 4 is persons in one cabin. 

Complete the experience with a real wood-fired sauna by the lake and learn why so many people in Scandinavia just love the sauna. Please note there's a surcharge for using the sauna

Day 2:

Snowshoeing and ice fishing

The adventure continues, and after a solid breakfast we will go bring you on a guided snowshoeing safari and ice fishing on the frozen lake. We will also make a fire and cook a wilderness meal around the fire. 

After the tour, we will drive you back to the bus station, where you will be taken back to Oslo leaving 14:40 from Beitostølen.

Price includes: Bus tour/detour Oslo- Beitostølen, visit to the Husky Farm, Dog sledding tour, accommodation in wilderness accommodation; breakfast basket, snowshoeing and ice fishing tour. A warm meal each day.

And if you want an upgrade to your stay, you can book a traditional private moment in our Sauna by Øyangen lake. 

Don't worry about clothing! We have outer clothing and Winter boots for you to borrow! For smaller children we don´t have a wide selection of clothes. Parents are required to make sure their children are well equipped for this Winter experience.
